Area Man Should Have Known Better Than To Be Mean to Girlfriend in Her Dreams

Area man Don Guggenheim was caught acting rudely toward his girlfriend in her dreams, and according to her, “he should have known better.”

The incident allegedly occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. last Sunday night. “I don’t know what got into him,” said Guggenheim’s girlfriend, Jane Harkenwiler. “We had just had such a wonderful weekend together, so it really came out of nowhere. I’m very upset with him.”

According to Harkenwiler, this wasn’t the first time Guggenheim had treated his girlfriend poorly in her dreams. “[Guggenheim] is normally kind, caring, and a joy to be around,” said Harkenwiler. “But multiple nights a week, he becomes controlling, selfish, and unfaithful. It’s completely unfair of him to treat me this way in my imagination.”

Guggenheim has denied all claims that his imaginary actions have been intentional, saying, “I was asleep.” Nevertheless, Guggenheim has reportedly spent several mornings apologizing for his behavior conjured up by his girlfriend’s imagination.

“The apologies go a long way,” said Harkenwiler. “It doesn’t make up for what he did—nothing will—but it certainly doesn’t hurt.” According to Guggenheim, a self-proclaimed patient and compassionate boyfriend, while he knows it’s not his place, he has suggested Harkenwiler bring up the dreams to her therapist for further analysis.

At press time, Harkenwiler’s therapist acknowledged that these dreams are typically the manifestation of external stressors and anxieties in the dreamer’s life, however, the therapist allegedly said that that’s not the case in this situation, and “[Guggenheim] is likely mistreating his partner in a very real way.”
