Under the impression that he had found a hidden immunity idol, Reuters reporters revealed that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was in possession of only a “standard coconut,” thus allowing the U.S. House of Representatives to move forward with his removal late on Tuesday.
“Bring it on,” McCarthy tweeted one day prior to Tribal Council, believing at the time that his “cool-shaped coconut” was a hidden immunity idol, ensuring his place on the congressional island.
However, Survivor’s latest season, “U.S. Capitol,” has already had many unprecedented twists and turns, and the former Republican Tribe leader was blindsided in a 216-210 vote—now leaving the tribe without direction amidst utter chaos.
At press time, McCarthy was heard in a talking head saying, “I would have done better on Survivor: Fiji, probably.”
